Back in 1978, Shinichi was obsessed with a short-lived TV superhero show called Zebraman, set in the future in 2010. When 2010 actually rolls around, Shinichi is a grade school teacher and family man who can't get respect from his students or his own family. To escape his not-so-wonderful life, he makes makes a Zebraman costume and begins to prowl the city at night. Soon, he journey into escapism becomes a bizarre reality when a monster from the TV show actually appears! Shinichi realizes his beloved show wasn't just science fiction but a prophecy foretold! Now, he has no choice but to fulfill the prophecy as Zebraman and protect the world from the alien invasion!
